Carlos has over 15 years of industry and academic expertise in simulation, 3D graphics, data platforms, and CAD. He was the co-founder and CTO at Synithicity, a Berkeley-based software startup empowering city planners and architects worldwide to design, simulate and visualize urban development projects. Synithicity was acquired by Autodesk where Carlos led the design of the data architecture, data models, and data management components of the Autodesk Forge platform before diving deeply into software and cloud solutions for robotics and industrial automation. Carlos holds a Ph.D. in Computer Science from Purdue University and has published his research work in top academic journals and conferences, including SIGGRAPH and CVPR. At Rapid, Carlos is leading a team responsible for re-defining robotics software to make the experience of operating industrial robotics seamless.
